There is a myth that eating or snacking late can ruin your diet and be harmful to your waistline. This is not entirely true. Snacking on high protein food just before bed can actually be beneficial. Feeding your body the right type of food will leave your body in an anabolic state before bed as well as help your muscles recover from heavy workouts and training.  Here are 5 high protein snacks that you can eat just before you jump into bed and will actually help you achieve your desired weight without leaving you hungry.

Greek Non-Fat Yogurt

Greek non-fat yogurt is perfect before bed snack. Choose the plain Greek yogurt as it contains no sugars and a lot of protein.  It is also easy to digest and contains no or very little carbohydrates. Add a little bit of honey and nuts for a better flavor and natural sugar.

Peanut Butter with Green Apple

Everybody loves peanut butter.  It is high in protein and healthy fats and it goes great with almost anything.  For a healthy combination add slices of green apple and sunflower seeds.

Whey Protein Shake

Whey Protein is great before bed because it will feed your muscles with the protein that your body needs and will boost recovery while you sleep and prolong your anabolic state.  You can add frozen bananas, ice and raw cacao which is a great source of antioxidants.
